Tailings dry discharge is a new tailings disposal process that has gradually emerged in China in recent years. It refers to the tailings slurry output from the beneficiation process being subjected to multi-stage concentration, and then processed by efficient dewatering equipment such as dewatering vibrating screens to form slag with low water content, easy sedimentation and solidification, and suitable for on-site storage. 2、 Reasons for dry tailings discharge
Tailings, one of the products of sorting operations in mineral processing, have the lowest content of useful components and are not suitable for further sorting under current technological and economic conditions. They also become the final tailings.
The lowest content of ingredients does not necessarily mean the lowest value. Tailings are widely recognized by experts as an important treasure with great potential for excavation and high secondary utilization. 5、 Equipment Explanation
1. Efficient concentration cyclone
As a common separation and classification device, the working principle of the cyclone is centrifugal settling. When the two-phase (or three-phase) mixture to be separated enters the cyclone from the periphery at a certain pressure, a strong three-dimensional elliptical strong rotational shear turbulent motion is generated. Due to the particle size difference (or density difference) between coarse particles (or heavy phase) and fine particles (or light phase), they are subjected to different sizes of centrifugal force, centripetal buoyancy, fluid drag, etc. Due to centrifugal settling, most of the coarse particles (or heavy phase) are discharged through the bottom outlet of the cyclone, while most of the fine particles (or light phase) are discharged through the overflow pipe, thus achieving the purpose of separation and classification. The combination of high-efficiency concentration cyclone, thickener, and dewatering screen can efficiently complete the concentration and dewatering process. After concentration and dehydration by the cyclone, the increase in bottom flow concentration creates favorable conditions for the dewatering screen operation, which can significantly improve the dewatering screen production capacity. The reduction of overflow concentration can effectively reduce the load on the thickener. By utilizing unique structural design, it is widely used in various beneficiation plants. In iron ore, even if the feed concentration is around 8%, the bottom flow concentration can still maintain over 70% and the yield is over 75%.
2. Efficient Thickener
The machine adopts a brand new mechanical structure, which enhances the coagulation effect of flocculants on solid particles. It mainly includes several supporting systems: flocculant addition system, degassing tank, and automatic control system. At the same time, the central discharge tube has been extended to reduce the dispersion distance of solid particles and enhance the thickening effect. The biggest feature of a deep cone thickener, in addition to having the characteristics of an efficient thickener, is the deep cone. The height is much higher than other thickeners. The structure of the compression settlement zone is also more complex. Deep cone paste thickener is commonly used for tailings filling in pits, surface tailings pipeline transportation, and dry storage. 4. Wear resistant slurry pump

1. The design is based on a daily processing capacity of 500 tons of tailings, which can be completed by one system on site. The flotation tailings concentration is 24%, and the material particle size is over 85% of -200 mesh, PH=7-8。
2. Tailings dry discharge design process: Tailings are classified and concentrated through a two-stage cyclone group. The bottom flow is fed into a dewatering screen for dewatering, and the overflow is fed into an efficient multi cone thickener. The bottom flow of the thickener flows into the dewatering screen, and the overflow is returned to the system as circulating water.

The 500 ton/day tailings dry discharge project of a gold mine in Gansu Province adopts a multi frequency screening scheme, which can save investment by 40-50% compared to belt filters and box filters, reduce costs by 2-4 yuan/t, and achieve a return water rate of over 75%.
